Simone Cavadini
Simone Cavadini (b.1988) is a Swiss Italian still life photographer based in Paris. After earning his diploma in graphic design in 2008 at the Art School in Lugano, he later combined this practice with photography at the University of Art and Design Lausanne (ECAL) where he graduated in 2012. He then moved to Paris where he worked for several years as first assistant to Guido Mocafico before focusing on his own practice between fine and applied arts. Essential to his work is the constant research that aims to explore the intersection between photography and graphic design. By using a mix of methodological and experimental approaches, he shares the idea that the solution to a design problem should emerge from its content. This applies both to his commissioned and independent artistic work.
He is the recipient of numerous awards and selections, including the Swiss Federal Design Award and the New York Photo Festival. Simone Cavadini’s clients include fashion and design companies such as Chanel, Givenchy, Chaumet, Issey Miyake, Liaigre, Rimadesio and magazines such as Numéro, Kinfolk, Yet Magazine, to mention but a few.
